“What do I do when I get a nail in my tire?”
Well, if it’s in the sidewall (the side of the tire) then there’s nothing you can do except put on the spare and drive the car to a tire shop (I recommend Tire Barn or Indy Tire, both are locally owned shops) for a replacement.
However, if it’s in the tread of the tire like the picture on the right, it can be repaired. If your tire isn’t leaking air, leave it plugged until you can get to a repair facility (or until My Car Doc can come to you!). If you tire IS leaking air, then air the tire up to approx. 36 psi and have it repaired ASAP.
